New Avocado Vs Older Shaded Avocado

Hi Jim, All New Avocado [NA ] should be the same, Shaded Avocado [ SA ] is a whole different ball game if you are trying to match original paint jobs or match the washer or dryer etc.

The original SA you need two different colors to touch up or repaint areas and the two different needed colors were different for just about every different brand.

Thanks Jon
The reason I asked is, I have a 73 LK,1107207901, the receipt says it was purchased 9/73, other than the bottom assess panel it looks brand new, there are a few scratches on that ( caused by me ) I want to touch up.... I just was not sure if there was a difference in the " New Avocado " or reg Avocado... thanks for responding and pointing it out to me...Jim

I recently purchased some avocado appliance touch-up paints off the web, which are the correct porcelain enamel. There were three different types available that I could find. There is Sheffield number 1672 (dark avocado) and 1671 (light avocado), and Whirlpool 72109 "New Avocado". I put all three colors on an index card to test them out. Both the Sheffield avocados ended up being exactly the same color, and both are much too dark. They are almost a forest green color, not even close to avocado, nor was it close to the darker "shaded" part of avocado. The Whirlpool 72109 "New Avocado" is a much closer match. I used it on my '73 Frigidaire washer (WIA3T) at the bottom of the front panel and its almost a perfect match. For all practical purposes, without getting a special batch made, I find the 72109 works quite well for most avocado touch-up applications.
