Does anyone have an issue with the cartridges leaking a little bit?  I noticed it last time I changed the cartridge and I wiped it out really well.  Then, today I went to change the cartridge and it looked the same as last time.  I thought maybe I had a bad cartridge or something last time but I don't know if I would get two in a row.  The end on the cartridge looks OK from what I can tell.  I don't know if I have an issue I should call on or if this is normal and I just live with it.

I have been faithful at running the AutoDos cleaning program when the reminder pops up but this seems to be more an issue with a seal.

That looks like a sealing issue.

The cleaning program dosen't do much except flushing the pipeing.
As far as I understand really not needed unless you switch your agents or plan on not using the system for a longer period.

Won't do much for cleaning the actual area the cartridges interface with.

I'd try to first wipe the ports down and see if that helps.
There should be some surface the cartridges will seal against.

Otherwise send a picture to Miele.
If you have warranty on it, Miele will probably be glad to send you a technician.

I don't have any detergent leakage at all and I've had the machine for 2+ years. I agree with Henene that running the cleaning program will not help with this since it is for cleaning the pipes and pumps out. It looks like only the phase 1 detergent has a problem because it is the one that has the blue tint.

Those US cartridges are very different to the ones we get in AU, it looks like they're rotated 90deg, but with the ports in the same spot. On the ones we have here, there is a vent in the top of the cartridge at the front, rather than at the same end.

I'll take a photo over the weekend, but for anyone else in the US, is that what your twindos connectors look like, I swear ours are different.

Cheers

Nathan

Thanks for the replies..

I have heard our cartridges are different.  I have also heard that the US machines will not accommodate a refillable cartridge that is available elsewhere.  I'll call and get the service guys out here to check it out.

Hi Chachp - Miele recently changed the design of cartridges, which caused a host of problems including leaking, and also the valves not letting air in, as the machine sucked the detergent out which led to cartridges shrinking down, moving out of their position, and then machines showing "insert cartridge" message- happened to my machine and I got the service team out and they said there is nothing wrong with your machine, its the cartridges and Miele were working on a fix...

There are so many complaints about it on Miele UK's website, under reviews for these cartridges - read these links for the UK reviews:

www.miele.co.uk/e/miele-u...

www.miele.co.uk/e/miele-ultrapha...

Thankfully, Miele have amended the design and my last two batches of cartridges have had no issues with leaking, or the valves not letting air back in - by the looks of it, those amended cartridges haven't reached your market yet, which is really frustrating, especially because neither the machine nor the cartridges are "cheap"

Hope this may have helped, somehow!

It does help.

Thank you Chris.  I will contact Miele support here and see what they say.  I still have 4 or 5 of this style in the cupboard.  Maybe I can get them exchanged when a new style is available.  I haven't had hte issue with the air getting sucked out of the cartridge but as you can see, I have certainly had the leaking issue.

I just bought two new cartridges and I don't see anything that has been redesigned. Since the North American cartridges never have been the same as in the EU perhaps we have not gotten the faulty cartridges. Probably a good idea to call Miele and see what they say.
