Do you know if this is the same model as the “how dry I am” model? |

If you remove the front panel, you should see a music box with 4 keys or bars with a striking mechanism if it is the model with that feature. |

They do run hot, and with a new belt, run very quietly. One downside is that they tend to go through thermostats faster then other makes. My mom had a 1956, and dried a lot of our stuff on low heat. since yours does not have that option, I would watch the time that you set it for, until you get used to it. Beware of sheets, and Jeans, as they can scald your hands if you are not careful. Congratulations on scoring a real beauty.
Hugs David |

Is it a modern flat belt? If it uses V belts it’ll probably quite easy to try and find something that will fit not so much with the flat belt |

As some models dry based on temperature Using a thermostat to know whether laundry is dry, imagine like the Sunbeam Radiante electric toaster but in a dryer format |

The amp draw on this dryer is 10A so when it arrives I’ll see how much at the motor draws, Do you also know if the model number denotes anything? |

The asbestos is usually between the heater box and the bottom of the cabinet in these WH dryers to avoid scorching the floor. |

The best thing to due with asbestos is to lease it ALONE, try not to disturb it in any way. |

Although if it’s in really poor condition, is there anything I could possibly use to replace it? I’m just curious |

I suppose you could use some type of mineral fiber insulation in place of the asbestos if it became necessary. |

EMAIL is an Australian manufacturing company. The name is an acronym for Electricity Meter & Allied Industries Ltd. Westinghouse was one of the brands they licensed to produce over there. CLICK HERE TO GO TO DADoES's LINK |
