Not sure if this was posted previously.
Seller will be holding onto this set for a long time at that price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-vintage-NO... |

This is absolutely amazing. The asking price is fair for what they are - a band new 1956 Hotpoint set! The dryer is indeed a condensing dryer (10LG11), and I have to wonder if the tub guard was flipped up like it is on the washer for shipping.
I hope whoever does save this fantastic set shares their save here on AW. Ben |

Bob, it appears to say "Tumble Only". Pretty nice features for a 1956 dryer - four fixed temps plus a no heat option. Not too far off from a '56 Kenmore.
While it wasn’t requested, here are the specs for the dryer |

Is that a water condenser or an air to air heat exchanger? |

Not sure what the condition of the rubber hoses are in but I ended up having to replace a rubber hose on my 1963 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII since the rubber was hard and compromised and was leaking on the pump outlet to the lint filter but all the other rubber hoses seemed to be in decent shape.
More than likely will need some sort of work done to them if someone wants to get them up and going again and will need a oil change on the transmission since the oil has sat for close to 66 years. |

Those look like the machines my former neighbors Nelson and Thelma had from when they moved in, in 1958, until they got the GE Versatronic set in the late 60's. |

That's always a crapshoot (what environment was it stored in, did anyone smoke nearby the machines, etc.). I've seen some NOS machines or barely used machines where all the rubber was as soft as it was new, some where all the rubber had turned to fossil, and then you get the machines were everything is fine except the outer tub boot.
Once the vintage appliances groups on FB find this, it won't take long. And for the record, since the OP threw out a challenge to us who felt it was priced appropriately, if I didn't have an already found new Hotpoint solid tub washer I most certainly would have hit the BIN button yesterday morning. Wow! An used set, still together after all this time!! Y'all know I can't even think about this due to that border thing... But if I could.... Sigh.
But I concur with Ben... 60+ years in storage can do very bad things to rubber and other components. I had to replace just about every hose and belt on the unused '56 GE combo before I installed it in 2009. Added bonus that all the wiring and the dry thermostat sensor wire had been chewed to fragments by mice. Don't get me going about the dishwasher... LOL |

Price was adjusted twice; down to $2k, then up to $2.2k a few days later. This can be found in revision history page.

Down one day, up the next.
BIN price is now $2,125, but who knows what seller will revise it to next day or week. Seller should just start opening bid at bottom line lowest price will accept, then let things go from there...... Years ago more sellers would have used reserve pricing, but Fleapay has messed that about so fewer bother nowadays. |
