Thought I'd start a pic thread-- of the kind we are all interested in. Let's try to include the name-brand of the washer and a brief description. Full-frontal preferred! Please~ The image of your pussy-gato, dog, car, etc. are appreciated, but maybe not in this thread! :-) Here is a General Electric top-loader with plastique tub, probably near BOL. It is in the basement of a commerical buildng near Canal Street in the Chinatown section of Manhattan, (New york, NY). The area is artsy-fartsy. Marilyn Monoe, supervising. |

You made me laugh my ass off. What a great kick-off to a Friday evening of bliss. He gets away with bloody effin' murder on this site, WEEKLY, and no one ever challenges. Even beautiful, beautiful--oh so beautiful-- Robert let it slide when he started that semen thing the other night on the picture thread. Good God Almighty, save us!!! So now he, of all members, legislates for us, and you broke all of his piss-ass rules. Good for you, you reborn man. You he-man! I'm going out to celebrate. Thank You. XXOO Love, Mikey PS everyone, I love seeing your beautiful dogs; they lift up my heart and make me happy. Somehow semen is just so beneath consideration; but hey, that's just me, mickeyd. |

Great thread Toggleswitch, I just love looking at pics. All my pics are in my photo collection so I won't bore you with them again. However, I have come across this old pic of an AEG Lavamat. Does anyone know much about it? A friend of mines mother had one and it spun at 800rpm and had a quiet induction motor. |

He said LADY not woman. *HUGS* *KISSES* Why thank you very much.... Flips hair wildly. Spins around on heels of "Candies" brand pumps, in see-through plastic uppers (with sable and mink trim). Waves to adoring crowd. Flashes cleavage. Does a "Charo-esque" COOCHIE-COO. Curts(e)ys. Adjusts package. Clears throat from being all choked up, moves on... Here is a GE electric [110-220v convertible] dryer. Circa late 60's. Sears Kenmore circa 70's. Penta-swirl agitator. They were in my sister's house when she bought it. Considering where it's installed, the LG is probably a combination. Here's my former 1998 Kenmore 80 installed in the then-unfinished Studio section, which I no longer have. |

Dryer controls. I dislike machines with TOO many cycles. I've used all of the dryer and washer cycles at least once in six months (never used rinse/spin or drain/spin, but have used all the others) |

I did see that the hot and cold taps were pretty far apart, but didn't realize there were two sets - does she have two dryers too? You know, if you got those GE's from Michigan on ebay, you could "store" one of your current washers next your sis' Maytag. That is a very nice Dep. Care, BTW. I passed one up just like this and am now kicking myself - I'd be kicking myself anyway as I have NO ROOM for any more washers! |

One dryer. For her family of 5, I think two dryers and one washer would have made a lot of sense. Thanks, but I am on a "diet" right now. Selling pvt. house to do a rental apt. for a bit. ~That is a very nice Dep. Care, BTW. Thank you. The beauty of it is, it will one day be mine. *LOL* ~I have NO ROOM for any more washers! Honestly I love how you rotate stock, and fufill other club members' dreams by forwarding your machines to others to enjoy! I see so many club members do this and it warms my heart! |

Toggle, I love that Maytag Dependable Care. Beautiful TOL model IIRC. I guess it must be from around 1997? I think that model was on the Maytag website when I found my way to the internet in that year. Maytag had a very simple website with a lot of drawings, I guess a website with a lot of pictures was too expensive. A lot has happened since that time! Hugs from the other side of the big pond, Louis |

I had a 24" kenmore that went directly into spin. At first I thought there was something wrong with the clutch slipping, but realized there was no pause in the timer after a few minutes of drain. |

well, maybe not football or baseball. This cycle doesn't sound as if it's meant for ground-in dirt. It sounds like it's for loads of sports clothes with lots of perspiration but not a lot of ground-in dirt. Most of my athletic clothes are cotton, so the cycle is rarely used. |

I bought these GE frontloaders last February when my good old Kenmores died. I'm really happy with them. My clothes come out cleaner than with the old washer and it uses a lot less water. As my house remodel progresses, these will be moved inside to a combination office/wash room where they will stay nice and clean and not have stuff piled on top.

Long time no see. :) I was wondering where the legendary you went, but I'm now happy to see you back here posting. I still remember (think about) the BOL GE you left at the old house, and how the motor tripped out after it suds locked due to the machine having no cluth. Anyway I love the machines in this thread and thank you for starting it.

Merry Christmas Steve. I've mised you and been worried about you and glad to see you're still vertical and stirring up life around you!!!
Steve, avocado LK portable is the exact color and model washer I bought used in fall of 1977 after moving into an apartment. The couple also had the matching dryer I bought. When I got transferred across town and rented an apartment with connectoins (GE FF set), I sold the pair to one of my best friends from high school as they had two in diapers and lived in apartment without connections. He eventually had to replace the transmission but the set lasted them for several years. This post was last edited 12/24/2021 at 15:35 |

I'm loving your 77 LK portable washer. It looks like new.
I picked up a coffee colored one in about 1984 from Goodwill, when they still sold appliances. It had the optional add-on temperature controller and water valve that plugs into the back with a molex plug. I wonder if yours has the plug? And that custom control panel on your GE... who knew masking tape and a wide red magic marker could make such a huge difference. ----- This post is so popular with over 6700 views and almost 200 threads. I hope no one minds if I honor Steve by creating a Part 5. Yes, research has shown that there are other parts already. Please continue on to part 5 Part 5: www.automaticwasher.org/c... |

Jon, those are really nice machines. They could wash a lot of clothes, uniformly clean!! 😊 I always thought the penta-swirl agitator was very good, it cleaned well yet didn’t overwork the clothes. Barry |
