Does anyone have the new LG WashTower? If so, I'm curious to know if you like it and if you would recommend purchasing?

There are actually now 3 models, the TOL model even sports a 5.0 cu. ft. washer.

I know it's not a very US thing

But I think that design is kinda pointless unless 2 machines stacked mean the dryer control panel is to tall for you.

Here, if either breaks and has to be replaced, you HAVE to replace both.

Buying 2 seperate items and stacking them means you can ditch one without the other.
Only downside is the dryer panel is up higher.

Many (most?)  common Australian dryers can be mounted upside-down so that the control panel for the dryer is directly above the one for the washer.

They often have  a decal available as a spare part to stick over the control markings so the labels are still right way up.

Dryers here are often wall-mounted that way up, too.

Of course this wouldn't work for heat pump and condenser dryers that can't be mounted upside down.

WashTower

I have used one. It is very quick using the Normal cycle, but does only one rinse. I don't care for the lack of cycles, but it has all the major pros of an LG machine. Very quiet, quick, good cleaning, and fairly reliable.

The cycles that are "lacking' that are part of the standard cycles for most other LG front loaders are available via the download capability.

"does only one rinse. I don't care for the lack of cycles"

First off, one rinse is by default, you can select UP TO 3 additional rinses.

Second, What cycles are lacking? Please explain. if it has the downloaded cycle,

a slew of other cycles are available, via android phone and WIFI.

The wash tower would have been the washer to buy if my other one didn’t break so soon.

Don’t let the one rinse cycle scare you. I’m pretty active and get my clothes pretty dirty and sweaty. I’m amazed by how well it cleans and rinses. For my dirtier clothes. I usually increase the soil level and add an extra rinse and it does the job.
Another thing on the rinse cycle. I am a window washer, I wash my wands every weekend and they often have dawn soap residue on them- creating lots of bubbles.. I’ve had a few other front loaders that struggle to get all the soap out of them. LG has been the best so far. I really do believe the spray rinses help improve its rinsing performance.

The lack of cycles is partly true, unless you have an app to use on your phone- you can use as all the other cycles.

I currently have a 4370. Because I have all the cycles available in the control panel.. I really only use cotton/normal, towels, and bulky items/bedding. Those are all available on the wash tower control panel.

Rich, the cycles that are on the control panel are Normal, Bedding, Heavy Duty, Delicates, and Sanitary. Permanent Press, Towels, Whitest Whites, and Allergene cycles found on most other LG's as part of default cycles is only available via the downloaded app.

Glad to see you posting again starting last year after a long break. Send me an email so we can catch up with each other.

one rinse on Normal cycle

LG washers with Turbo Wash provide two spin spray rinses along with the one deep rinse that is default on the "normal" cycle. As others have pointed out, you can add up to three more deep rinses to that cycle if you like. (That's four deep rinses with a spin spray between each one.)

Using the default Normal cycle (one deep rinse) on a light soil setting will give you a speed wash cycle.

1 rinse

As far as I understand, TurboWash is the default on Normal.

Without TurboWash it should 2 normal bath rinses with low level.

TurboWash by default does 1 spray rinse and 1 pretty deep rinse plus a spray during the final spin.

Each added rinses adds 1 spray and 1 deep rinse.

Lack of Cycles and one rinse

This is considering that you do not have the app and/or in comparison to comparable LG stand alone machines. The Kenmore app for our machine does not have cycles like that. Most are variations of cycles already on the machine with odd names. I can not attest to what cycles are on the LG app.
Second, the mention of the one rinse is so that people understand that the quicker cycle times occur when the extra rinses are not selected. When selecting extra rinse, it adds ~20 minutes back to the total time.
Also, I was providing my input on the single rinse performance for those that are prospective buyers so they know an extra rinse may be needed to meet their needs.
Again, as a forum, discussions about opinions and experiences like this are appropriate here.

Actually, on the WashTower I used, TurboWash can not be deactivated on the Normal cycle. If I recall correctly, it can not be deactivated in a majority of the newer machines, including the WashTowers.

time on normal cycle

How much time estimated does the normal cycle last on the dryer?

On new LGs, Normal & Heavy Duty cycles have Turbo Wash hardwired (not able to deselect) into the two cycles.

for the dryer

How long is the normal cycle without energy saver?

With my LG 3570 model, my go-to cycle for most loads is normal (turbo wash) with normal soil and one added rinse. I typically choose hot water which delivers 95 - 100 degree wash water, which I consider warm. That gives three spin spray rinses and two deep rinses. Cycle time runs between 38 - 45 minutes depending on the weight of the load it senses.

I should create a "favorite" cycle with this combination, but have not ever bothered.

Several years ago, LG had a dryer with AdaptAble controls, which meant the control panel could be mounted on the bottom of the dryer. Now Samsung have front loaders with a washer|dryer button, so the washer can control the dryer on top.
