So I have to ask about this Westinghouse model. Was this a good machine? I didn't see the name "White Consolidated" anywhere in the ad, so I'm guessing this was before they went downhill. It sure does look like a strong machine. Just wondering how they ran and how long they lasted. Thanks.

This was before the WCI takeover, but I think they kept the original design and would use it for other company's washers after they acquired them. Sadly, they would do away with the unique washing action of Frigidaire when GM sold the line to them. In my early adulthood, I lived with a roommate who had this machine and its matching dryer. The washer actually laundered quite well and with little linting. The drawback was its anemic spin which was as slow as WP/KM at the time.
We had an OEM version of that washer (Ambassador, sold at Allied Stores, Jordan Marsh in this case). It was a work horse for a family of 5 boys. It broke down early in it's life but once the kinks were out it did quite well.
