Free, if the timing works out and you can pick up from the metro Los Angeles South Bay area:

Maytag MAH3000AWA Series 19
Failure: drum bearing issues bad enough to throw the belt.
I did a deep rebuild of this unit in 2008, with a lot of new parts including a new drum and many mods per Maytag service bulletins. Has the original wax motors, and they seem totally happy.

Maytag MDG3000 (don’t have the series on it, but it was bought at the same time and place as the washer)
Fully functional. My mother can’t stand mismatched major appliances.
Significant repairs and service bulletin-advised mods in 2008. New motor in 2018.

Condition: Bottom front of the washer chassis has significant rust from early years’ water leakage, though still has structural integrity. Otherwise they’re in good shape for their age, and with TLC could be brought back near or all the way to museum quality (i’m guessing).

No one likes unreasonably brief time pressure—including me—but that’s where we are. Mom bought a new LG set today (1 May 2021), with delivery slated for Monday 3 May 2021, when the Neptunes will be hauled away to whatever appliance delivery people do with the old machines. She will NOT let the machines wait in her yard a few days until someone can get them—i asked. If someone on here can get them out of her laundry room Sunday 2 May or possibly 3 May before the new ones are delivered (and we don’t have any idea what time that will be), *awesome*! Otherwise they vanish when the new machines are delivered.

Anyone?

Much as i’ve enjoyed reading posts and things here on automaticwasher.org in the past, i only joined today and have no idea if or how messaging works on this system, and whether i’ll get alerted to anything if i’m not on the site. Due to the time-sensitive nature of this all-too-brief offer (beyond my control), it may be more time-efficient to email me at your choice of the email address linked to my account on this site (if that’s visible), or MAH3000@siber-sonic.com.

If nothing else, thanks for reading, and being so into vintage laundry equipment to make the effort to save it.

))Sonic((
