Last Of The Real Maytags

This is one of the many stupid things Maytag did when they were making machines that looked worse than Montgomery Wards stuff.

When you look at Kitchenaid Kenmore and Whirlpool W&Ds from this time the MTs looked cheap.

OK, this is strictly my opinion, but the graphics on these consoles has to be the ugliest damn designs that I've even seen on a washer and/or dryer.  It looks like they were trying to appeal to a kindergarten crowd.

I was getting ready to say that.  Two more photos, & tweaked-up a bit.

"It looks like they were trying to appeal to a kindergarten crowd."

I was about to call the graphics juvenile, but your take is even better. I'm afraid all that slanted wording would've absolutely set off my OCD and driven me up the wall every time I looked at that thing. Epic Fail!

Dare I say that the only thing Newton got right with this special edition set was the use of the 1950's Maytag script. Outside of that it looks like a Jr. High project created in PowerPoint, screaming out from the mid 2000's.

The graphics on the control panels of those Maytags look like a 2000’s PowerPoint presentation background or a screen saver from the 2000’s but I can put up with that over the current junk that’s being made and being bought by gullible consumers who don’t know any better and start kvetching when their new junk appliances aren’t working.
