I can't believe ScantPear1985 spent $95 of his money to buy me this board just for me to get freaking scammed. The listing said used not for parts or not working. Is my harness broken or is this board broken. I'm about ready to throw it into my hot tub. My dad tried everything to get it fixed. No components on the board are burned up and there is no capacitors bulged. This makes me so mad. I wanted this board for this dryer and the matching washer. I guess unless I did something wrong, Please correct me Glenn (DADoESofTX) if I did. Otherwise I am returning this board. I wish I could use some profanity in this but profanity is not allowed in the public forums. It really makes me mad. I waited 4 days for it to be delivered only for it to not work. Buyer beware!

It may be a case of buyer beware BUT these boards are incredibly fragile compared to the computer boards from the 80`s which are double the thickness & strength with stronger components.

Best to treat with kid gloves when shipping , fitting and repairing otherwise you risk doing more damage. Hope its a simple solution fix and not another case of buyer beware. Good Luck !!

The Intuitive panel board may be bad ... but pulling/plugging wire harnesses and changing panels while the machine is connected to power is a No.

Banging buttons with an angry finger also a no-no. I often get to replace microswitches on the boards of FP machines, what happens is the plastic membrane over the switches fails, a bit of moisture gets in, the microswitch becomes unreliable. People bang at the switch and this often breaks the circuit board - an easy repair becomes damaged beyond repair.

The correct thing to do in the situation was to contact the ebay seller and ask them to replace the board or refund the purchase price. The rest is nonsense.

Hold on a minute...

Are you trying to upgrade by fitting the dashboard of a higher / later model? The "faulty" display board and the "original" board shown later in the video are completely different. Are they interchangeable? The later board with the display screen may require a different power board/power supply.

I am not familiar with this dryer, the top load dryer was never sold here in Australia, but generally with FP washing machines, you can NOT swap boards between models. The display board and power board are matched sets, you can't mix and match. If you want the later model / fancier dryer, you probably need to buy the later model / fancier dryer. They are even labeled differently - one is called Smartload and the other Intuitive. The "Smart" and "Intuitive" washing machines are very different and boards can't be swapped, I'd expect the same to be true of the dryers.

Research and observe the situation very closely when buying F&P boards on eBay.  I've seen numerous display boards for AquaSmart models described as a newer part number when the photos show an older number labeled on it.  The seller presumably looks up the part number, finds that a new number is now substituted for it and assumes that the old (discontinued) board is the same as the newer, substituted board when it is not on washer models.  Some sales also don't have any photos that show readable board labels.

Early AquaSmart models had either a detergent & a softener dispenser or a detergent & a bleach dispenser, and the display board was firmware-coded accordingly for the model.  Newer models were produced with detergent & softener & bleach, and with no dispensers. The old display boards were discontinued and the new replacements have updated code with a set-up function for the dispenser configuration so the cycles can operate accordingly.  Newer AquaSmart display boards are backward-compatible to older models/boards (although the motor board may need to be changed to match) ... but older boards are not forward-compatible to newer models because they don't have a code version that provides for setting the dispenser configuration.

I bought an LCD display board for the current (2nd) AquaSmart refurb that the seller described as new-in-box, with a photo of the board in bubble-wrap in an F&P factory box.  The label on the box had a newer part number and Sep09.  The labels on the board were an older number and one of the labels referenced 15/05/07 (May 15, 2007) so it seems the sale was also passing-off an old board as NIB.  I documented it ... returned and refunded.

I also ordered a (used) AquaSmart 421226USP P7SPL motor board that showed the correct part number label and board (shell opened) in the photos but the seller sent a completely wrong 421306USP P7CPE board for an agitator Eco model.  Returned and refunded.
P7SPL = Phase 7 Smart Pump Low(-profile agitator)
P7CPE = Phase 7 Conventional Pump Eco

These are the first such incidents for all the items I've thus far bought on eBay.

The console tries to power up, when I hit start it goes out.

I think it is a broken button or solder joint. Thank you for your suggestions, It's going back and I am getting a Kenmore 110.82881800 Direct Drive.

FP washers have a brief "handshake" when started up - the power board and display board communicate to check if they are compatible before going further. They won't play if they are from different model machines. I think your mis-matched boards are failing the preliminary check.

The machine of the situation is a topload dryer.  All of the various models can take any display board AFAIK.  There are three boards in the machine:  display board, sensor board, and motor board.  Comparing a gas and electric version of the same model, only the motor board changes P/N.  The sensor boards are the same across all models.  The display board changes accordingly for the model.

I changed a DE62T27D (AeroSmart) dryer from an LED button panel to an LCD touchpanel (DE62T27C.

My mother has my 2004 DEGX1 (first-generation topload dryer).  I'm going over there shortly.  I'll take along the DE62T27D panel to see if it works.

OK.  That was interesting.  I powered it up only once, briefly, but the AeroSmart panel didn't seem to work.  It bleeped once and a couple of the button LEDs flickered but no other response.  Maybe another power-cycle would get it on track but I didn't try.

The display board wiring harness on topload dryers is part of the lid lock assembly.  Some of the harnesses are all-blue wires, some are black.  DEGX1 is blue.  The plug fit into the LED AeroSmart board but maybe the wire arrangement is different.  Will have to check the AeroSmart harness later.

Kelly, check parts diagrams for your dryer's model against the Intuitive panel's model for whether the locks are different P/Ns.

A Outdated/incompatible/faulty sensor module was the culprit

The sensor module was not cooperating with me. I replaced it with a sensor module from a donor DGGX2 from 2009 and It works now! I got to be a little more vigilant. A first generation DEGX1 CANNOT be converted without replacing the sensor module. I hope this helps!

Your DEGX1 sensor module may be bad.  Randomly picking several models, parts diagrams show DEGX1, DGGX2, DE27CW1, and DE62T27DW2 all take the same sensor module P/N 395628P, with no substitution/updates stated.

Check the P/Ns on your two modules.  Are they the same?

Fault 105 is "Comms Error Time Out" -- communications failure between the sensor module and display module.
-- visually check the contacts on the connectors at both ends of the harness
-- check for continuity on the wires [trace the wires through from both harness connectors when testing, they may not all be arranged in straight-through order]
-- replace the display module
-- replace the sensor module

Following-up on the eBay experience, I searched the offerings for F&P boards and found several sellers who are describing items with wrong P/Ns vs. what's on the labels on the boards in their photos.  One has a washer board P/N in the sale description but the labels indicate it's a dryer board.  I had contacted one for additional photos clearly showing the labels and the seller refused.

The wrong display board I returned, that seller has it for sale again still described with the wrong number, and at a higher price.

Sellers of boards for other brands may be doing the same thing if revision updates are involved.
