Bob is exactly right. This ad is from the 1986 Fall & Winter catalog. These have the new control panel design.
Toast and Platinum were introduced for the 1985 models, and gone by 1987. |

Tom, I beg to differ with you, it's 1986. I was on vacation visiting a former neighbor in Rochester, NY September, 1986. They had just been put on the Sears floor. Had friends with belt drive pairs that one had Toast and the other Platinum pairs. Kenmore 70 series models wee already utilizing the DD mechanism. But fall of 1986 is when the 80 & 90/LK series used the DD mechanism.
