Hello everybody. Does anybody know about Whirlpool's latest dishwashers? What did they change from their global wash system models? Do they work or sound any different? I would like to know more about them, please! Thank you.

The newest machines look like the KitchenAid and Maytag models interiors. Sorry the images came upside down.

microclean

Do the new whirlpool models use the microclean filtration system? What did they name theirs?

Excuse me,

but I'm blind, so I would like some descriptions.

Oh sorry wasn't aware. The new Whirlpool made machines have a deeper tub and stainless steel lower and upper spray arms.

The filtering system is self cleaning...though not sure if anything needs to be taken out once in awhile to clean. The system has been redesigned. Don't know enough about these to comment further.

I know this though. When my Frigidaire bites it I will get one of these if the LORD wills.

new whirlpools

What do these new whirlpools sound like? What did they name their new wash system on their own line?

from what little i've read about it, it seems that there is a small part on the top of the sump that will trap larger food particles that may have to be periodically cleaned, but that depends on use.

personally I'd like to see how the washing performance is, especially on the kitchenaids with the 3rd level rack spray tubes. I believe each spray arm level is on its own wash zone now, so only one will run at a time. the kitchenaid models also have a fan assisted dry again, a feature that I dont believe had been around for a while.

inside latest whirlpool

I personally would like to see the wash action of whirlpool's latest dishwashers on the inside.

Whirlpool has made consistently good cleaning dishwashers over the decades. I think it would be a safe bet they still do.

I'm anxious to know the name of their new wash system.

Looks good!

It looks like it has a stainless cutlery basket similar to what was on the high-end Maytags. Anyone know the model number of this one? I don't think I see it on Whirlpool's website.

I have been very happy with my 14 month old WDT730PAHZ. I wonder if the wash pump is variable speed because the frequency changes during the cycle (the noise is different than when the wash arms alternate).

One thing I question is the long term reliability of Whirlpool products in general. I know vintage WP products were built like tanks but these modern machines have so much plastic and tiny motors. How long can they really last?

Actually that might be a Maytag because the silverware basket looks different. I might have accidentally mixed up the pictures I believe, but one of them IS the new Whirlpool.

I'm also interested

in how Whirlpool's pumps can handle dirty dishes. I don't see the name of whirlpool's filtration, unlike kitchenaid and maytag.

they all look like they're using the same filter so i'd guess its identical between all three.

I'm sure Whirlpool could've called it

the total clean wash system.

clean water wash

Why couldn't Whirlpool use the clean water wash system on their own dishwashers?

I am also interested in the latest models as my current unit is a 23 year old Maytag middle of the line mechanical timer model. It has been fed softened water its whole life so the interior looks like new aside from the racks which are starting to rust out. It works perfectly still but new racks are way more $$ than the thing is worth.

What I love is that I can throw just about anything into it without pre-rinsing short of a turkey carcass and it will make it all go away. My parents have a newer Kitchen Aid and while it is almost silent when running my father obsessively rinses the dishes due to the filter plugging up. If I have to wash the dishes first, what is the point of having a dishwasher?

pre-rinsing

Tell him to stop pre-rinsing. All he's doing is speeding up the process of ruining the dishes and racks. All he needs to do is scrape and load and use a premium dishwasher detergent and rinse aid. It is a dishwasher, not a sanitizer. I don't pre-rinse anything in my apartment whatsoever.

We know your views Jerome. I will continue to pre-rinse and my 30 year old Whirlpool's racks are still like new. And no, I will continue to use cheapest store brand detergent. You do what you want and I will do what has worked for me for a lot longer than you have been alive.

You might be able to find used racks for a decent price on Ebay. Worth a shot.
