I remember back in the early-mid 2000s, some freestanding ranges had a warming drawer under the oven where the storage drawer usually is. I think Frigidaire even had a model with an oven and window in the drawer.

Looking these days I don't seem to find any ranges that offer these features. Why is that? I notice some ranges list a keep warm oven setting as a feature.

My GE range has a warming drawer

When I bought it in 2013 there were several on the floor that had warming drawers, others could be ordered with one as an option.

I wasn't sure I would use it, but went ahead and got one. Boy was I wrong, It so comes in handy. When you are frying off chicken and have one batch finished, and another in the pan, you place it in the drawer and everyone eats hot chicken when it 's finished. Dinner rolls are kept warm. At large dinners you can move items that are finished to the drawer and cook the side dishes before serving.

I honestly don't think if I entertained much, if I could manage without a warming drawer again. Though the last year there has been little entertainment in my house, maybe one day again.
