On my ASKO W660 series washer, the door is very hard to get it to close. If I push very firmly on the door (without slamming) the drum usually hit's the back of the case before the door latches. My guess is that it's taking 12 to 20 pounds of force and while I've noticed (from video's) that ASKO doors do require a firm push; I don't think the design was for this difficult because the ladies will not tolerate this.
Today I've tied spraying contact cleaner into the latch, then silicon lube but neither has helped. I do note that it closes better with just a very quick and solid SLAM, but don't think that is how it is designed to be shut. I can't tell if a slight modification on the male or female side plastic could help so don't want to start trying that without more input since I could mess it up.
The electronic push button ("key") to open the door works just fine.
Has anyone else experienced this or figured out a way to get their door to latch quicker with less FORCE or effort?
