I believe these were the last of the old Hobart designed KA machines made by Whirlpool. What I’m interested in knowing is how different are these from the Hobart made machines and were they still a quality product with good washing action? I come across these once in a while and I’m not sure weather to take a leap on picking one up. Whirlpool products from the same time period were very good so I’m assuming these were as well. I know some later version Hobart machines only had one final rinse which is a drawback many say as well. I’m interested in learning a bit more about this final Whirlpool/Hobart model. Picture is just one I pulled off another thread.

Hi Shannon, these were indeed the last of the KA DWs that were mostly Hobart designed.
These were probably about the best performing of all KA DWs that were Hobart designed mainly because of the elimination of the stinky messy filter, the 23 series was the first KA DW to use the WP power-Clean pump and motor.
Other than that these were similar to the 21 & 22 series, quality control was better and a few other minor things were improved such as better upper rack wheels.
KA had a LOT of warranty and quality problems in the early 80s and they had been loosing money for several years which lead to them selling out.
