Hey everyone. Happy Monday.
Does the limited edition mean anything. Special ?
Is she worth the small road trip to get her and restore her ?

I vaguely recall that the Limited Edition models had a 5-yr warranty, and maybe that extra trim piece at the front.

...also for the fact these are no longer in production would be another good reason.

The subject washer would be a late 80’s to very early 90’s version. Around ‘91 they were marked “Ladies” for a short period of time before that moniker was dropped and then they were electronic 90 series as shown by Martin until 1996. The warranty was 3 years on the electronic 90 series version if I remember correctly. New console designs were new for ‘97.

Lady "K" was usually left to the belt drive digital versions....

Lady "K" was also part of the direct drive series, but only in electromechanical controls....I bought a set for my mother around 1985 as the change out from belt drive to direct drive was taking over...

Direct Drives came out as part of the "Limited" series...1986ish to 1990ish

and then "Electronic" versions from there on....

I had the 1988 Limited set....and then jumped up to the Electronic 3 speed washer, and a gas dryer in 1995.....both sets in Almond....I also had the full "Limited" kitchen appliances to match...still have the dishwasher and compactor...

they all had a 5 year extended warranty on them....

this current set I have now if I recall are 1999 units, the last of the digital and lighted consoles...graphics show up better on the Ebony set...

there is nothing like a Kenmore SoftHeat dryer.....

I purchased a black pair of the Limited Edition models in either very late 1984 or very early 1985.  I happened to see them in the Mobile store during a visit to my folks' and when I went back to Birmingham I went to one of the local stores a bought the pair.  There was only one problem; I was living in a condo and the space for the washer and dryer was somewhat limited and once I measured I realized that the dryer would not fit in the space due to the extra depth of the cabinet.  So I had to go back to Sears and cancel the sale.  Needless to say, the saleswoman was pissed.  Very. Pissed.
