Have you tried a very hot wash with lots of Oxyclean? They advertise that it removes ink from clothes, so it should work on the drum itself.

BonAmi and a sponge or scouring pad?
Should that fail, I'd go chlorinated...

Alcohol. Denatured. Be very careful you don't get KO'd by fumes and remember its flammable.

Pull the stained area over a folded piece of terrycloth, but not a good towel. Dab at the top with fingernail polish remover on a piece of cloth. Some of the stain will come off on the cloth you are holding and some will come off on the terry towel underneath. Turn both to clean areas as you work. Wear gloves when using the polish remover. Was it ball point pen ink? The polish remover should lessen the stain if it's in the dryer drum, but probably won't remove it completely. It will clean it to where it won't transfer to other loads. If it's in the stainless steel washer drum, it should wipe right off with polish remover. If the shirt is wet now, let it dry because the solvent will not work through the water in the fabric.

Aqua Net

I just had this problem, and remembered reading some where that hair spray will remove ink. I bought some and saturated the area and then put it in the wash it worked.
Hope it helps you
