Hello everyone,

I'm an animator from the UK, and I make comedy animations and also animations of true family stories. I've recently done an animation of a story from 1962, when my grandmother bought her first washing machine, a Rolls twin tub.

Thanks,

Mike.

Very cute! I enjoyed it.

Although one would think that 'electrically safe' would include having a high temp cut-off switch. True story?

It was cute, but also very scary & could of had a very tragic ending!
😳

Thank you for sharing and I'm so relieved things turned out the way they did!
😊

Rolls TwinTub in animation

Hi Mike great animation of your grandmothers twinny , the Rolls while very popular was a very basic twinny that just did the job and for price it was very popular.

From a mangle it must have been a housewives joy to be able to wash and get clothes spun dry almost ready for ironing back in the day.

Heres Richard testing out the Rolls after it was given a refurb.

Yes, completely true. My grandmother kept it after it had been on fire, and she used to use it to keep jellies in in the summer !

Wow, they're brilliant ! I had one of these for a while, but sold it as I just couldn't get the parts for it. The spin dryer was in a very bad way. It collapsed, the switch was broken and rusted and the pump was knackered. I'd LOVE to get my hands on a restored Hoovermatic !!

THE VACUUM CLEANER
