Guys, a couple of nights ago another Frigidaire 1-18 popped up on Facebook.

I immediately contacted the seller (it was listed as free) and she came up with the "zillions of people already contacted me.

Ok, I offered $50 and guess what.

Congratulations! I had the same model in harvest gold. Many happy, thumping Jet Action loads to you.

My great grandmother had one, then my mom inherited it and she had it for about 13 years,I think it lasted 25 years between the 2 of them before it quit and she got rid of it. I'd love to find another one. Congratulations on your find!

O.....K....

Well... it's here...

It's connected...

I ran a test cycle (no load)...

Washing, it sounds like a derailed train.

Spinning it sounds like a derailed train + a tornado siren.

Fill valve is also strange, it fills VERY slowly (maybe just the filter is clogged, I still have to check)

Control panel was lose (that I fixed in 30 seconds)

No pulsator cap (not a surprise)

And I still didn't remove the front cover. I'm actually procrastinating because I know I won't really like what I'm going to find.

Sounds of the washer

If you set it on mini water level and was on normal agitation I can relate to the noise and spin during no load that is a normal sound (whistling like a siren)

Mixguy

I have two Frigidaires side by side

One purrs like a cat (well, like a wild cat snoring)

The other is 50 times louder. Really louder...

Absurdly louder!
