Thanks for sharing!

Didn’t know about those museums. Surely wish they still made ranges like that.

Thank you!! I shudder at the thought of all the heat those gas ranges put out if all 3 ovens and NUMEEROUS burners were going simultaneously!!!

Beautiful ! Gas is the only way to go as far as I am concerned. Seems there are some folks though who have irrational phobias about them.

"Seems there are some folks though who have irrational phobias about them."

Rather inconsiderate toward people who have asthma and get asthma attacks from the combustion of gas appliances. Are those irrational phobias too? Or were you just addressing Bob's problem that gas can heat up the house too much? Is that the irrational phobia you meant?

Say something nice or don't say anything at all is worth giving a thought.

Irrational?

I've personally seen a house blown clean off it's foundation in a nearby neighborhood due to an undiscovered leak in a gas line entering a basement. All that was left was a hole in the ground and several houses nearby were so severely damaged they had to be evacuated. Something similar happened in New England a year or so ago due to poorly regulated line pressure. While not common, natural gas is nothing to fool with and it's hardly irrational to be wary.

Louis you are correct. My apologies. Had no idea gas flame and asthma were a bad combo.

Some posts I've read on the subject there are those who would like to see gas ranges banned altogether. If you don't like gas then don't have it. I'll take it whenever I can get it. It's a risk I don't even think about. When it's your time it's your time.

I wasn't trying to be "mean" Louis. Just observations I made reading through the whole electric vs. gas threads. No need to get your knickers in a knot Louis. I can speak my mind quite well thanks.

Yes Firedome it is nothing to fool with I agree. I've used it all my life so that's why to me I just don't dwell on it. There was a home across town from me that blew up when the people came home and hit the light switch. I think the stove gas was on. Thank God it has smell though.
