Thanks for trying to save this machine and posting all of the pictures. This machine is fixable if the outer tub is not majorly rusted along with the center post. From the looks of the rust on the base plate in the back it has been leaking water for a very long time. With a major rebuild of the drive system it could run for many years but it is a fairly large project to take on. I hope someone does contact you to save it. If it weren’t 2000 miles from me I would have picked it up already.

There are collectors who have an affinity for lower end machines like this. It's a couple of notches above the most basic model, but would probably still have appeal. I like this machine because it offers enough selections for most laundering needs.
If no one comes forward, your efforts to save the machine are admirable. You tried. If it ends up as a Prius, so be it. You did what you could to prevent that outcome. Thank you. |

Kenmores from that time onward had the labels 'RINSE & SPIN' in Normal (later Cotton/Sturdy), and 'SPIN ONLY' in Permanent Press. This washer has them vice-versa. |

Hi John, Your machine is definitely repairable if you are handy and want to put the time in it.
If the outer tub is in really bad shape we may even have a better used one that will fit.
You also might want to find a donor machine and combine two machines depending what your goal is.
We would have about any parts you would need to restore this washer.
The parts from your machine are not worth much because there are still a lot of better condition machines out there, and as vintage machine go this is not a rare machine.
I regularly see better WP-KM Belt Drive washers getting recycled, If you are sentimental about this washer it can be saved, If you just want a good vintage washer like this one it might be better to start with one in better condition.
In any event there is lots of help here if you want to restore a vintage WP or KM washer.
