for my LG normal loads take around 35-40 minutes without any options. we don't use heavy duty all too often but I think it adds roughly 30 minutes to the wash portion and an extra rinse or two. on ours it also uses more agressive wash actions. |

For my 2011 Duet, the Normal/Casual cycle with normal soil is 8-10 minutes. The cycle use very little water and no heater to maintain wash temp. Whites, light soil is 8 minutes; normal soil is 18 minutes and heavy soil level is 33-35 minutes. Bulky Items light soil is 9 minutes with a 3 minute soak; normal soil is 15-18 minutes with teh 3 minute soak and heavy soil on this cycle is 22 mintes. Heavy Duty cycle light soil is 18 minutes; normal soil level is 24 minutes and heavy soil is 42 minutes. Sanitize wash temperature adds about 25-40 minutes on each of those cycles depending upon soil level.

My Ancient 2005 Duet Front Load:
Normal (40 min's) with no options, 50 min's with more soil and 1 hour with extra rinse - more soil Heavy Duty - 50 mins no options. Extra rinse add 10 and ore soil add 10 for 1:10 (which is what I almost always use) Whitest whites: 1 hour no options but defaults to extra rinse. I add more soil for 10 more min's for a total of 1:10 Sanitary is like 2:30 or 2:45 I can speak of delicate and soak because I never use them. But it's interesting that later Duets and other FL washers started using even longer cycles than my model. |

Bear in mind, my interpretation of your original question was you wanted to know what the wash time was for cycles, for me that meant just the main wash phase and that's what I provided you, not the complete cycle time. For the complete cycle time, add at least another 35 minutes for the rest of the cycle.

It is true that you can get a load of laundry done in 35 min's...but if I had that Maytag, I'd have to do 2 loads (35 min's each) to wash what my duet could wash in one load. My wash time for typical loads is 1:10, so that's about the same.....but if I had to live with a TL washer, It would definitely be the Maytag Commercial.
