What is the longest tumble time known in a FL washer? I see most FLs tumble for 7 seconds, pause for 3 seconds, reverse tumble for 7 seconds, pause 3 seconds and so on. Are their any FLs that tumble for longer periods before pausing and reversing? Like 30, 60 or 120 seconds?

Can you also include the horizontal axis washers,

As mine rotate for about 11 seconds possibly longer before changing direction, my Nova mini wash changes direction every 10 seconds

Thanks.

I have the feeling that reversal needs to happen often.

most early front loaders didn't reverse at all

Neat! Why did they start reversing?

I would think the reason they started to reverse tumble front loaders was to help with tangling.

Would 60 seconds cause to much tangling?

Duet

Our old Duet would tumble for about 27-28 seconds at low speed, and reverse after about 2-3 seconds during the Normal cycle. It would do this for the filling portion and for about 5 minutes afterwards. Clothes would tangle up, but it seemed to do a decent job scrubbing.

Neptune owners may correct me if I am mis-remembering, but I seem to recall that my buddy's Neptune varied the pause between tumbling: the cycle for delicates had the longest pause; the cycle for sturdy fabrics or heavy soil had one second pause or less.

This is true, the service manuals for the Neptunes shows varying pause times based on the cycle.

Thanks Everyone.

Reason I ask about this and reverse tumble time is that I'm drawing up a FL timer program that can fit into a 73 increment timer.

18 seconds- that gives me some hope. I'd hate to have a separate or multi drum timer.
