This set is in like new condition as it was hardly used since I bought it in 1971 and it has been stored in the basement for the past 40 years.I didn't use it because my well water isn't good. What's special about this set is I have all the original booklets and paperwork with them. See the photos! Make me a reasonable offer and local pickup only. I am in southern NH.

Wondering

Do you have any more washers, or dryers to sell? Also, that dryer drum is probably one of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen ever!

My quest for a 70’s Norge set is over. I was able to acquire this set from the very nice owners. Not sure when they’ll arrive but I’m pretty excited about being able to get them.

Not super far from me. The one day I don’t check here and I missed out. Oh well my buddy in Texas has been looking for a while so I’m glad they’re being saved!

Yup I think these are going to have to go in the living room. Lol! I’ve been good, I quit looking at classified sites except shoppers square of course. I’m sure there’s something out there I still want but as long as I keep from searching…

Thanks Shannon! They were originally posted here on June 29th. I had to persuade them to let me have them shipped.

I miss a lot here with my lack of time lately. The 3 month old and 15 month old keep me busy. Who do you usually use to ship and what are the costs generally for that if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve used CCC Transport several times as well as many others. I used Gordon Giffin for the ‘75 kenmore set but his schedule didn’t work to pick up the Norge set.

Shipping these days is EXPENSIVE!!! You have to really want something to pay to have it shipped. I get a little carried away sometimes. I started with uship and found real quick that using the most economical bids brought damaged machines with no action to make things right.

Anytime I have something shipped even if it’s with someone I’ve used before I heavily stress how important the lack of shipping damage is to me.

I’m at the southern tip of the country and it seems everything I want is always more than 1000 miles from me so I’m sure it would cost less for some of you. Gordon Giffin is in Vermont and he does a good job.

Melvin, I'm so thrilled. I hope some day I'll be able to lay eyes on them in person, along with the rest of the conglomeration!!!

Thanks Bob! I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to build to show case all of these great machines that I’ve collected over the years. It’s going to have to be pretty large and air conditioned and heated for sure.

These green beauties arrived Tuesday evening and I snapped a few pictures before getting them inside. The glare on some of the pictures didn’t do any justice as to the nice condition of this set. The purchase date of September 8 1971 was written on the packet with the dryer paperwork. So their 50th birthday is not far away. I think the original sales receipt is the only thing I don’t have but there was also a note that these were paid off in 30 days.

The story on these machines is that the people I got them from bought the house in 1975 and the machines were left there. The lady I acquired them from said she never used them because the water was too hard. So apparently for 46 years they sat in a dehumidified basement unused while the folks used the laundromat. I assume they were used for a couple of years by the original owners until they sold the house in ‘75.

In hindsight I probably should have created a new thread for these so it wouldn’t look like they are still posted for sale. I apologize.

So can you explain

How does the fabric selector work for options? You select your temp and speed, what does the fabric selector change?

The pictures are not in the greatest order either. That is the heat selector for the dryer.

the fabric selector is the temperature knob for the dryer. Has nothing to do with the washer.

Melvin, there's the "off" with the triangle on the cycle knob after the soak/regular cycle and then there's the "off" right before the prewash cycle. Inbetween those two offs is where the subds return would have been. That's what I used to play with on our 1964 Norge. Close the lid, turn the timer dial slowly (with it pulled out or pushed in for "on" and the washer should start agitating without any water.

I was curious about that void Bob. When I saw the triangles I thought that’s what it may have been used for. I’m not sure when I will be able to hook them up but I will definitely try that out.
