These are my daily use machines. They’ve been outrageously reliable, I did have to replace a timer on the washer but other than that they’ve been solid performers. I’d like some more information about them as I did not buy them new. Thanks!

Probably around 2008 models. Some of the last decent direct drive whirlpool built washers made. They are definitely good machines to use daily and do a great job.

Normal maintenance?

Any specific places I should watch for wear. Any preventative maintenance that could be done to keep things in top order?

Not really. They are pretty sturdy machines. Keep the dryer vent hose and outside hood clean. Keeping the vent hose as short as possible is good for all dryers. Since you cannot watch the washer agitate, be sure the agitator clutch dogs are always working. By grabbing the top of the agitator with one hand turn it back and forth both ways. The bottom of the agitator should turn in one of those directions with the top. If not, the clutch dogs need replacing.
