I hope they didn't rip or maul something in the process of removing it such that it ends up being inoperable.

I'd say it's very virginal pink.

What's the gray thing in the bottom? It is some sort of a stripped down model with the one shot detergent funnel rather than a dispenser that works on the timer shaft.

Bottom

Could that be a stainless steel liner that was part of a repair for damage to the Plastisol?

But then if the sump rusted out, it would hardly qualify as unused" would it? And if the sump rusted out from sitting, the motor would not be in very good shape either, would it?

the word "unused"

I think has been bastardized to include "unused by me". Just like "excellent unused condition" often includes a dirty oven.....

Base model

SU60V - from the last year of 3 models in the dishwasher line, just before the drop-door models were introduced. "Bird-feeder" detergent dispenser. No Power Shower. I'm thinking 1960-61, with the wood veneer panel. They had continuous problems with the fill washing the detergent out of the dispenser too soon. Replaced by SU102, the only pull-out model in the line. At least the tub gasket seems to be in decent shape.

Steve I agree with you in that folks updated definition of the word “unused” when describing a vintage appliance is definitely different from what we would believe it to be.

"unused"

Yes, Steve, absolutely. That is why I put the descriptor, "unused" in quotes in my title.

One has to take the term with a grain of salt in classified listings, as often it has no legitimacy.
