I have a Kenmore (D&M?) 18" dishwasher 587.14439200. While in the main wash cycle the motor suddenly stopped, timer was still running. I checked underneath and the fan above the motor could be turned freely by hand, but the motor housing was extremely hot, couldn't touch it for a second without a burn. There was voltage to the motor at the connector. I tried to run the machine again about 15 minutes later and it started again. Did the motor get too hot? It seems to be running fine with nothing blocked or leaking.
Motor for this machine is NLA.
My parents had a similar machine where the motor failed due to a water leak a few years ago. They replaced it with one of the new Chinese Frigidaire 18" machines, which has a tub that isn't as deep and can't hold as many dishes.
