Great to find this place for advice! I found this part from inside our dishwasher today and not sure where it is supposed to be placed. Is this a broken piece or I can put it back somewhere? |

This is part of the manifold for the upper wash arm. It is held to the back of the tub with rubber nipples.

Thank you so much! @Vacman1961 So is that possible to put this back or I need to replace the upper washarm component? Will the dishwasher still functional as is? |

The upper rack arm won't spray without that piece in proper position. Water flows up from the pump through a hose (on the exterior of the tub) that fits into a hole on the top of the tub. The water manifold mates to that hose and to the spray arm for feeding water into it. See items 1, 2, 3 (your misplaced part), 4, 17, 14, etc. on the diagram.
