I like the look of the Wrangler Cowboy jeans but they used to get uncomfortable to me and too stiff. They have the regular uber-stiff ones that I think are meant to be ironed, and then the prewash which are ok, but still didn't fit me well.

Usually I wouldn't buy clothes at thrift stores because the selection here was small and most of the clothes weren't that good. But since Goodwill opened up here a few years ago, I've bought many of my clothes from there. Some of the stuff you could buy new for what they want but other things are fairly priced.

There I discovered Wrangler Retro jeans, I've gotten two pair so far from there, and I really like them. They look like the Wrangler Cowboy jeans but are a bit fancier in detail, and have a softer, more breathable fabric.

These jeans are quite expensive to buy new in the $60-70 range, which I would never pay. Last Christmas they had them on Amazon for ~ $30 but I missed out before I could get any. Then I found some the other day on Amazon for $32 with free shipping, and since it's tax free holiday on clothes I got them with no tax.

Really looking forward to getting these. I also find the American Eagle and Aeropostale jeans fit me very well, although Aeros can be a bit thick and on the hot side. I also used to get Arizona Jeans from JCPenney when they were open.

Wranglers

I wear Wranglers all the time and during Covid, I resorted to ordering them online from Target. I dislike the new "Flex" jeans (stretch feels weird to me) so I have to carefully search for non-flex, but the big thing is the sizes! I've worn a 30" inseam for 40 years and the last few pair I've bought were way too long. I took them to a tailor and had them shortened by 2" to match my old 30" inseam jeans. WTF?

I have one pair of Wrangler, and a couple that are Wrangler-Riggs (heavy insulated), all bought at Menard's. I think they are holding up better than Levi's, and also less expensive.

Usually I don't like the flex ones but I do have a pair of American Eagle stretch that I really like.

The Cowboy Wrangler jeans I would get at a feed store or Tractor Supply Co. I don't know anywhere else that has them, although I did once find a pair at Ross. The Wrangler Retro I think I saw once at Ross too but nobody else seems to have them other than online. The slim straight ones fit me the best. One pair I got at Goodwill fit perfect at the waist but the legs are too long, so I'm going to have them shortened.

I prefer buying pants in person because they always seem to fit different than I expect. Shirts I can usually get away with online, but even those I have ended up being too small despite having similar ones of the same size already in my closet.

I like Wranglers also. They seem to hold up better for me and are comfortable as well. My jeans of choice.

Wranglers are all that I buy when I want jeans. Actually, jeans are my uniform, the only pants I wear 365 days a year. Wranglers are good quality for a fair price and they fit well too.

One other poster mentioned that he wears a 30” inseam and now they are too long. I wear a 28” inseam and the shortest inseam available now is 29” so I have to shorten every pair I buy. Luckily I learned to do this when I was a teenager so I can do this myself.

Wranglers usually hold up pretty well and last....

there are some rules to wearing jeans, any jeans for that fact....not that everyone follows them....what looks good on you, and what you think looks good on you can be two different things....no one product is for everyone....

they should fit snug yet comfortable....and hug your ass....not 3+ sizes larger than your actual size...or falling off your ass...even if your ass is dragging the ground...

if those jeans dont do your body justice, and vice versa, select another pair!...

just like spandex, it has a weight limit, and should not sag!...

next best I think are Levi's 501 button fly.....

and make sure you own, say it with me now, a FULL LENGTH MIRROR!....

Hello Martin:
You are so right about jeans being different for everyone. Those are great pics by the way. Hope you are doing well.

Interesting story about Wranglers

Wranglers came out in 1947, produced by a Greensboro based company called Blue Bell, The plant where they were made was the Lenoir NC plant where in the summer of 1947, my Mother took a job ant worked there 21 years, becoming the personel manager in 1951.

I don't like Wrangler jeans but I wear their jean shorts all the time in the summer.  In the winter, it's either Lee or Levi's jeans for me...usually Lee.

I used to work in a Wrangler store and we got as shipment of dove grey, PLEATED jeans. I wore them in all sorts of "no jeans allowed" places and nobody ever made a comment.

Current favorite jeans are RSQ Skinny from Tilly's: Low rise, wide hips/seat, room in front, and they actually (so I've been told) make my ass look less flat.

Wrangler great for riding horses. Unlike Levis', the thick seam is on the outside providing more crotch comfort.

A brand I haven't heard of or worn in years, however I bought black jeans by the Rustler knock-off brand to wear at work for my job where everyone else wears blue denim or gets away with the seemingly prohibited sweat pants and stretch pants and yoga pants from Walmart or Target...

Just for them to be worn and getting holes in the seat to crotch area and needing to be replaced every year, whereas the Meijer brand, Timber Creek, to have actually lasted about a couple years, getting frayed around the pockets and the legs but holding up well enough to keep wearing and not annually replacing... Unfortunately all including these have turned from that richly black to a drab and dull looking gray!

Although belts are a different story, many of them self destructing early in my shift and replacing twice a year, but I'm wearing a thrift store one I got the lead leather replaced, and has six inlays, of which one fell off and got lost somewhere at the mall in Israel...
