I don’t know why people list these for such outrageous prices. I commonly find good to excellent condition center dial Maytags for free up to $100 all the time. I had a guy locally with a junky dented up BOL machine and he wouldn’t take less than $100, needless to say I wasn’t interested in it for more than $25. Keep your eyes peeled and you can find much better prices. Avocado is a cool color though especially if you are going for a period look.

While I definitely agree about the prices of these machines due to the fact that at their age regardless if they are working or not they are going to need some major work if you are going to use them daily long term. One thing I’ve learned about the sometimes steep pricing is that it allows the machine to go to a new home instead of a landfill. I’ve purchased quite a few of these machines that started out with a high price to test the waters and after finding no interest most are willing to settle for a reasonable amount.
