Hello, I have a "Deep water soak" cycle on my Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum and I would like to know the exact sequence it follow since I add my own powder detergent directly onto the clothes. It seems to do I light rinse & spin before filling up to soak.
I do not know whether it actually drains or if the water is just being absorbed by the clothes. If it does drain, then it is draining my detergent and I have to wait to put it in, which is fine.
Partly I want to know because I wonder if I have to redo a few loads I intended to soak in my borax/washing soda mixture. I couldn't find a manual that details the exact steps the washer does in sequence. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Perhaps best to use the machine's detergent dispenser, that'll insure detergent is added at the appropriate time in the cycle sequence per the selected options.  Pods & tablets of course shouldn't go into the dispenser unless it's specifically designed to handle them.

The Soak sequence may involve an initial minimal fill level for a concentrated treatment solution (which isn't drained) before filling more for the soak period.  Whirlpool referred to that in the past as their Catalyst process.

Bravos XL soak phase

In the machine I have used, when selecting heavy soil for long soak time, the machine would perform the 'catalyst' treating phase for around 20 minutes to saturate and treat everything with a high concentration of detergent solution. The machine would then fill and agitate for about 3 minutes. It would soak for about 20 minutes, then agitate for 10 seconds and recirculate water, and repeat for about 1 hour. The machine would just drain once done. It worked well. Though, not sure if your Cabrio is the same.
