Hello AW!
Thought I would post some vid's from my newly restored AEG Lavamat Bella Deluxe washing machine. This one I wil keep in my collection. :-)
This model has 850 RPM spin speed, no unbalancecontrol so it just goes for it.
I even got the original user manual and a feature's tech sheet with the machine.
I also got a extra spare programme timer and motorcontrol module for it, as they are hard to find for this particular model.
The list of job's I have done on the machine:
1. Changed the door seal
2. Changed the schock absorbers
3. Changed the drum bearings and the seal
4. New silver paintjob to get rid of the sun damaged yellow plastic.
5. A full clean of all internal hoses drum and tub.

Here's some pic's of the machine:

Thank you for sharing. Great Videos!

Beautiful painting on the plastic. What type of paint did you use? How do you like it compared to your Miele that looks like a W1986?

Very beautiful. The last series of real Aeg Lavamat. I have one similar but it has a problem with timer. It randomly makes a spin spike during wash .

I remember seeing the AEG machines in Architectural Digest magazine when I worked in the library in high school.  Before internet, I either sent in a card or called an 800 number for more information.  I may still have the brochures in my closet trunk somewhere.  The ad read, "Advanced Engineering from Germany" AEG.

Hi. I just used some metallic car spray paint, left to dry for one day then applied clearcoat spray the next day also left to dry for one day. The new paint has really freshened up the looks of the machine.

Compared to the Miele (same as the US W1926) I like the AEG for it's more dramatic spins as it just goes for it no matter how unbalanced the load is, also the AEG does a highlevel dilution rinse at the end of the mainwash and high waterlevel in the rinses as standard.
Build quality is nearly the same they both use stainless steel tubs cast iron bearingcross, though the Miele uses a heavier grade of steel compared to the AEG.
Otherwise not much difference between them, I like the performance from them both 😀

A late congratulation to a wonderful washer!
I`ve had the "Princess" model with 1000 rpm, out of balance control and the "Sensortronic" suds lock control.

What excellent washers AEG made before Electrolux took over to finally ruin the brand, quality and performance was almost comparable to Miele.
Very innovative too, IIRC they were the first to come up with a valve on the suds container to prevent part of the detergent going down to the pump area unused for the washing process.

IIRC electronic suds lock control for washers and water saving alternating wash arms for dish washers were also AEG innovations in the same time period.
