Hi Ben. If nobody here has any leads, I would highly recommend visiting the AFCA forum and signing up as a guest, so you can ask there. The Antique Fan Collector's Association is full of enthusiasts who definitely will be able to help.

Is that the one with the cover over the outside and a chain that traveled through a slot on the inside to release the cover and turn it on?

We had a Westinghouse-branded one of those in one of our old houses.

my 1974 mobile home had one of those-had a 4-blade plastic fan,and the fan had a little push switch behind the grille that turned on when the ball chain was slack/outside flap open.Ventline made the fan.I was a little bit interested in kitchen and bathroom fans when i was ~9-12 Y.O. :)

My brother put one of those through the wall by the toilet. He wanted to have it just above the seat, but I told him it should be higher on the wall to deal with steam from the shower.

Are those kitchen exhaust fans in the background?

I remember my grandparent's 1981 mobile home had one of those Ventline through the wall fans behind the stove. It had a silver metal grille with a V logo. It had a flap door that opened when the chain was pulled, and it had the 3 plastic blades too.

I can remember as a kid we'd drive up and grandma would be cooking and would have that fan on and the wonderful aroma of food cooking would be blowing out into the carport! I would look through the spinning blades into the kitchen.

1950's Fasco through wall 4 bladed kitchen exhaust fan

Hey Everyone,
I really enjoyed everyone's responses, I guess I'm not the only one that likes antique kitchen exhaust fans!
Yes, it is the kind of fan that has the bead string through the center. And I also remember coming to my grandma's house, seeing her fascinating fan, and smelling the delicious smells.
Thanks for the link, I will check it out.
I am looking specifically for the item above, but I would really enjoy hearing more from you people about growing up with them, experiences, etc.
Thanks so much!

(I stuck on a picture of the kind of fan I am looking for. Unfortunately, if you look closely, you will notice that the one in the picture has a blade broken off. I am looking for an intact one.)

1979 mobile bunkhouse...

...had bathroom fans that were made by -I think-strawsine IIRC:there was a thin foam rubber disc above the 4 blade plastic fan that was blown upward to allow airflow when the fan was on-once the thin foam dry-rotted to dust,wide-open air leak in winter:)
