Hi everyone. Just wanted to acknowledge and thank Martin once again for coming to my home today with a 90 series DD from 1999.

If anyone can help out would be MUCH appreciated. I will need to replace the wash basket of this washer and wanted to know if it was possible.. ANYWHERE..to still find a porcelain wash basket for this. I imagine the price will be dear but don't want a SS tub in mine. If really needs be then I will.

Any of you WP/KM guys know if even a current vmw Amana tub will fit this washer ? They look to be the same size and style.

I need to touch up the porcelain for now though. Would appliance paint be enough ? How would I go about fixing these holes ? There are quite a bit of what looks like rust smears and chips towards the bottom.

It would be a fun project to get into and a great learning experience.Im willing to do it but need Martin and all of you Whorlpool experts who do these repairs in your sleep

I'm a beginner.Much appreciated for all and any help. Will post pictures soon

Thank you Bob ! I always wanted another of these. As probably most of us know how hindsight is 20/20. I would have kept the 2003 90 series machine I had but couldn't wait to try the "new and improved" "HE" Maytag Bravos X. BIG MISTAKE!

I now have 2 DD machines and really want to get this one back into like new shape!

Replacement wash basket

Here is a link to what may be the correct one in an Ebay search, but you should look up the part number using your model number to be sure. They are not cheap - especially new ones.

find a good salvage one...

check appliance shops or look behind a Lowes,Menards, etc for junkers-tell them you want the tub for outdoor flower pots or have a kid with ADHD and a toolbox :) Last year, i junked a bunch of DDs because i needed sheetmetal for a telescope shed project, and tossed a bunch of good baskets.I could look out for one for you(state what hole pattern/color/speckling you would like) I am quite a ways from NewJersey though.

I need the super capacity white tub with the swirl hole patterns.
