Not quite sure how old this washer is, but it needs repair. It makes a very loud banging-whirring noise in the spin cycle. I was wondering if someone could assist in what she has.

It is a 1997 model. The belt is probably the banging noise and if the whirring noise your referring to is like a loud roar then the upper bearing is bad more than likely due to a bad tub seal. If the whirring noise is more high pitched it could be the wash basket if it doesn’t have a load in it which is normal.

depending on what your mom needs this model is very good and she would have room if she wash her bed comforter plus she would have the extrapower option www.maytag.ca/fr_ca/washe...
