Hello everyone, Recently I acquired a Kenmore Elite Catalyst and am glad to be able to mark one of my dream washers off of my list. However, I am still unsure as to how old it is exactly. I’ve been told that it was made in 1999, but running the model and serial numbers through a website shows that it was manufactured in March of 2001. would anyone be able to pin point the exact year and possibly even month it was made? Thanks! I’ve also included a couple extra pictures in case that helps at all. (The agitator currently in it is not the original. I’m waiting on parts for the triple action agitator it came with)

I'd keep the non original agitator...

I haven’t seen one of those in good condition still working in a long time, they had a lot of trouble with the control panel membrane and occasional problems with the board itself.

If you want to keep it for the long-haul you might want to try to get some extra control parts for it.

It will work best with the original agitator but you can use any direct drive whirlpool agitator in it.

The outer cabinet shows it’s been used well but it’s internally and electronically in very very good shape. It functions as it should and doesn’t seem to make much noise other than a couple of squeaks from the suspension. I’ve had the outer cabinet of it off already and it’s very rust free! from the receipts that i got it appears the bleach hose was re routed or replaced, it had a service on some form of wiring harness and connector, as well as a new transducer (i’m not sure what that is or does) sometime in late 2001 and early 2002.I like it very much and plan to keep it as long as I can!
