i picked up this agitate arm earlier this year from a member here who was parting out a 1-18. my original agitate arm was severely damaged a few years ago when it became detached from the agitate shaft during a wash cycle. i have been wanting to get the machine running again ever since.

this arm looks good except that the plastic sleeves that cradle the steel ball are shot. i assume it will be next to impossible to find replacements so i'll have to improvise.

i was thinking of using a sheet of 1/16th inch thick rubber we sell at home depot and trimming it down to make a cradle of sorts for the ball to rest in inside the arm.

any suggestions, ideas etc. would be greatly appreciated. this 1-18 will not be used much at all, maybe twice a year as a novelty. but like all my machines i like them to operate in reasonable fashion when i do get the urge to turn them on and try them out.

thanks

Just in case you didn't see it in your email, I refunded you the $$ you paid for the Frigidaire 1-18 agitate arm through PayPal. I am sorry the part didn't work out for you. I did not know it wouldn't work for you.
Please accept my sincere apology.

Best of luck to you on getting your Frigidaire 1-18 washer up & washing once again.

Lovingly,
Christina

Here's a thought...

You know, it's such a small part, I wonder if you could get someone with a 3D printer to make it?

Hi Peter, Those little plastic pieces are Delrin bearings and need tone hard and smooth to work, it looks like water got on it and rusted the steel ball and caused the bearing pieces to ware out.

I don't think rubber would work well.

I probably have some good used agitate arms around if you can't find one.
