One of the used appliance places got one in today. He wanted to take the boards off and lend it to me but we made a deal where I could trade in a machine with equal or greater value. I have a WL42T26DW1 console in my spare parts stash which I would rather use because the grey facia is more rare. Both have the triple dispensers. How do I set the machine size on AquaSmart. I know Ecosmart is set by pressing and holding Temp up button and pressing power. To select US/L size push Spin up button until hold is lit then press power to save. Intuitive is set by pressing and holding fabric care and press power. Set the size to not set then press power. Hold fabric care and press power again and set the machine size to L (650MM) press power to store the program. I will use the DGGX2 console for the dryer so the colors match. I will swap both to the LCD consoles when I can afford them.

LED AquaSmart machine size (Fault 9 is incorrect or not-set machine size):

- Power Off.
- Press/hold Spin, press Power at the same time, release when the panel turns on.
- Select Spin for Small (7kg) size.
- Select Softener (or Bleach, whichever button is to the right of Spin) for Large (8kg) size*.
- Power to save and exit.

*An LED K model/panel with no dispensers (and no Softener or Bleach button), I don't know how to set, I don't find any information on it.

May also need to set the dispenser configuration.  Fault 24 will occur if it's wrong.

LED models

- Power Off.
- Press/hold Temperature, press Power at the same time.
- Press Temperature to set accordingly to the physical dispenser configuration:
    Cold = no dispensers
Warm = two dispensers (usually detergent & softener, but there is a detergent & bleach model)
    Hot = three dispensers
- Press Power to save and exit.

I didn't clarify above that all U.S. models are Large size.

Dispenser Config.

maytagneptune's profile picture
I picked it up and it turns out that it was a double dispenser WL37T26D. I can wait for the final rinse but I am unsure if I can set it to triple dispense and the bleach dispenser becomes a fabric softener dispenser or if I have to wait until I can get an LCD console and convert it to a WL26CW1. It works INCREDIBLY WELL for a HE Impeller washer I put a FULL LOAD to the top of towels where the motor was close to stalling when it was doing HE wash to calculate the deep fill level, Once it determined the level and filled halfway, It turned that load over like 40 times. IMHO The Aquasmart has better rollover than the Intuitive! This washer took 1 hour and 5 minutes to put all the effort I put into it into the towels and get them as clean as the Calypso does! 5 spray rinses and a 5 minute deep rinse. Used Bleach option on Heavy cycle with HE off. John L did you scrap those F&P washer and dryer or do you have them? can you make a bulk deal on both consoles if that is the case?

Tub clean?

maytagneptune's profile picture
Is there a way like the GWL11 where I can program a tub clean cycle with a 2.5 hour soak? I had it apart and I was cleaning it but some of the gunk wouldn't come off no matter how hard I scrubbed! It's annoying! I want to let the machine soak for 2.5 to 3 hours full of HOT water with Affresh.

Tub Clean on LED models is via Power On, press/hold High Efficiency and press Start at the same time.

Regards to dispensers ... depends on the version of LCD panel, if it has configuration choices for both Detergent-Softener and Detergent-Bleach.  The cycle options and operation of the 2nd dispenser changes accordingly to the configuration.  Detergent-Softener provides a Bleach option on only the Whites cycle, which triggers a pause and beeping at 9 mins into the wash period with a display advisory for the user to pour bleach in through the detergent dispenser and press Start.  Detergent-Bleach configuration provides a Bleach option on all cycles and the 2nd dispenser function changes accordingly, with no Softener option available on any cycle.  Setting it for 3 dispensers when there physically are only two will likely trigger a fault code when the boards don't detect a circuit for the 3rd dispenser.  Keep in mind that the later LCD board with all the choices must be paired with a later motor board to match.  Display 421231P or 421613P and motor 421226USP.  Cross-paired newer display with an older motor board, the display won't take the key sequence for setting dispenser type.

I have a 3-dispenser LED panel, which can be set for 0, 2, or 3 dispensers.  It has both Softener and Bleach buttons for cycle options ... but only functions in 2-dispenser configuration as Detergent-Bleach, even if the Softener option is selected with a cycle.

Boards.

maytagneptune's profile picture
The motor Control Board was bad so I swapped in a P7SPL 421226USP dated 2010. I found another Aquasmart at the scrap yard a year ago and took off what I could keep. The machine was already smashed unfortunately otherwise I would have taken the whole machine. I prefer the Aquasmart over the Intuitive as it works just as well but I favor the smart pump. It's quieter and more reliable. F&P was not marketed well here in the US and only so many were sold. The few that did sell they hardly ever break so even then they are difficult to find. How exactly do I swap between Detergent+Bleach or Detergent+Softener on the config on LED?

Combo52 & DADoESofTX

maytagneptune's profile picture
DADoESofTX I really appreciate your help. I'm happy that people like you exist and are willing to use your spare time to help me. If it wasn't for you DADoESofTX I wouldn't know so much about F&P and the NeppyTL I would have had to learn the hard way and blow up boards. I wish my stupid P7CPE board was labeled correctly. If I would have known, I would have swapped in my PH7 Stator and Rotor, along with an IWL16 console. The PH7 reflashed to PH6 board can't handle the differences but I ranted and added more detail on a past post thread#87790.
Thank you.
John L. I Appreciate your help on the Calypso and 1-18. I haven't gotten into it yet as I am afraid of destroying the rollermatic mechanism and killing the machine. I can't find a service manual for free. I know about the trick to remove the nut but The jetcone is damaged. I need a new agitator. I'll probably smash off the old one.

Should be, same model as my swapped panel but different product code.  Serial on that panel NEU is 2009 May US.

Mine NLT is 2009 Dec Thailand.

LED panels configure for 0, 2, or 3 dispensers.  There's no direct choice for Detergent-Softener or Detergent-Bleach regards to 2 dispensers.  How/when the panel operates the 2nd dispenser depends on its firmware/software.  There are varying models between LCD and LED with all four dispenser configurations ... none, Detergent-Softener, Detergent-Bleach, Detergent-Softener-Bleach.

Leaking Detergent Dispenser

maytagneptune's profile picture
The insert that is labeled "High Efficiency Detergent" Is LEAKING! Water is getting over the back of it and spilling down the side of the plastic top and into the cabinet and onto the floor. The other side is leaking and overflowing into the Bleach/Softener Dispenser and diluting the additive in the dispenser and causing it to dispense too early. It sprays water everywhere when the temp is set to Warm/Cold! It's very annoying. I made a temporary fix by blocking the water with packaging tape which is easy to remove if I have to raise the top deck for servicing. Is there a fix by ordering a new insert or do I have to silicone it into place?

The Detergent Flusher & Cover Kit is P/N 421047, includes a strip of foam gasket material (round, 3.0MM diameter x 155MM length).  Replacements don't have the High Efficiency Detergent printing on them.

Takes a bit of force to pull the cover.  There's no way to gracefully release the retaining tabs to avoid some shear damage on them.

There's one used on eBay but I wouldn't trust it to be usable, and of course it doesn't include the gasket.

Maybe someone pulled and reseated the cover on your machine.  You could try applying silicone into the seam but that may not be sufficient if the gasket is missing and water is spraying from under the cover at the ends of the gasket channel.

8 loads later I have concluded my honest opinion

maytagneptune's profile picture
After 8 or so loads. Give or take a few. The results are in!

Pros: Good looking, excellent turnover, large capacity, smartpump, has option for HE or Conventional, Effective wash action. GREAT Stain Removal. The water was always dirty!, Durable, Quiet.

Cons: Expensive parts, feels cheap, Plastic top.

By "feels cheap" I mean that the plastic top and weight of the machine feels cheaper than most other machines. However this machine wasn't flexing or bending or squealing when I tipped it up on my hand truck/2 wheeler/cart/hand card/dolly. It doesn't tweak or squeal when I have a big and heavy load in it like 95% of HE washplate/impeller/low-profile agitator washers (Calypso and Neptune TL don't count, they have their own unique wash action) This washer has better turnover than every other HE washplate/impeller washer even the Original F&P based style Cabrio with the washplate/impeller with the big triangle fins or what member ScantPear1985 refers to as the "Fatfin" washplate/impeller. I personally prefer the SmartPump over the cheap garbage Selni conventional pumps. My IWL12 has the cheap Selni pump and it is surprisingly still working. I'm going to probably order the Italian substitute so I have it. The Selni pump sounds like it's going to die at any second. I did install the fuse kit on it. After I tested this machine with Clothes, Towels, sheets, blankets, comforters and even 3 full size pillows! I like the preformance of this machine better than almost every other machine I have! The only one I like better is my Calypso! I'm keeping every other machine though and I am not getting rid of my Neptune TL either.

Console

maytagneptune's profile picture
LCD console arrived today and works perfect. The firmware is new enough to use the Detergent+Softener Config. I tried washing this large almost a king size Synthetic comforter and it failed miserably. No machine in my collection can effectively wash it. I Tried it in the Calypso,LG,Neptune FL,Intuitive and now the Aquasmart. I need to try it in the Neptune TL before I give up and take it to the laundromat. I ran the Bulky/Synthetic Comforter cycle. I didn't film or take photos but I also did the Soft Toys cycle. I respun my stuffed toys at 1010 RPM to remove as much water as possible. 1 was too delicate for that so I removed it but the rest were respun at 1,012 RPM. DADoESofTX do you have the way to put it in diagnostic so I can see the spin. My Intuitive spins up to 1,014 RPM. I always thought the Aquasmart spun to 1,110 RPM. Sorry about the glare in the photos. The console is very reflective.

Warm temp is ATC 122°F, if you aren't aware.

I've done my queen-size comforter and blankets to acceptable results.  Gathering long-wise and placing round the basket gives a better start for some rollover.  Agitation is aggressive and such items end up balled-over the impeller but the 30-mins soak followed by another agitation period cleans well-enough IMO.  I try to redistribute before the 1st rinse fill if I catch it, or the 2nd rinse if I miss the first.

I have a very heavy cotton quilted queen-size washable bedspread that will barely fit in the Neppy TL, with liquid detergent added directly to bottom of the basket instead of through the shower dispenser.  Don't use powder in the N-TL dispenser on such items, some residue will get caught in the folds when it showers down with the fill.

U.S. models with SmartDrive motors spin at max 1,010 per diagnostic RPM (although it may sometimes get a couple RPMs higher) ... until the last models (both agitator and impeller) which were upped to 22-lbs capacity and to 1,100 RPM before dropping toploaders off the U.S. market.

The gloss finish on the panel insert catches scuffs very easily.

LCD diagnostic keys later.

AquaSmart LCD Diagnostics

dadoes's profile picture

LCD diagnostics.

Press/hold Select, then press/hold High Efficiency at the same time for two beeps.  Can be done with machine power Off or On, and also while a cycle is running (High Efficiency will tweet an error when touched since it can't be changed while running, ignore it).  Touch Power once to exit diagnostics (careful while running a cycle to avoid two touches turning the machine off if not desired to do so).

Diagnostics Menu:  choice of Service and Control, scroll to choose, then Select.  Back to exit to the Diagnostics Menu.

- Control Option allows manual toggle of Hot Tub, Restart, and Recycle.  Hot Tub is normally off, automatically turns on after a wash fill other than cold, turns off after a (cold) rinse occurs.  Restart is normally on.  Recycle is normally off.

- Service provides (scroll to move between them):
  - a blank screen* (see below)
  - Warning Status / Fault Status.
  - Machine Status (includes WL = water level pressure reading, T: = thermistor reading, Target: = ATC desired temp).  Manual test operation of solenoids and pump.  Scroll left/right to choose, Select to turn On or Off.  Multiple devices can be on together ... turn on one then scroll to select another.  Detergent or Softener requires also turning on Hot or Cold since the solenoids are diverters in the flow path.  Bleach if the machine has the fourth solenoid is a direct cold-flow so operates by itself.  Select for Pump wraps through Drain, Recirculate, and Off.  Keep pressing left or right scroll at the ends of the device selection to wrap around to the other screens.  Note that if a cycle is running and a device is operating for normal function, it cannot be manually changed until released by the cycle function using it.

Extra screens not described in service documentation -- Press/hold Back for another beep when on the Diagnostics Menu screen.

- An additional selection Development will appear, used for factory development, not useful for diagnostics.  The panel will lock if selected and the only way to exit is disconnect the power cord until the panel turns off.

*An extra scroll screen will appear under the Service selection which gives some interesting operational parameters including:
- display board version
- motor board version
- cc = cycle count (presumably)
- RPM = motor RPM (turn the basket by hand to see it change)
- OB = presumably related to off balance sensing
- wl = water level pressure sensor reading (in millimeters I believe, mine reads 3 or 4 when empty)
- bf = water level at basket float on the running cycle
- fill = target HE or deep fill level after it's sensed/calculated
- various mysterious parameters on the agitation profile, etc.
This extra screen will remain accessible via successive Diagnostics until power is disconnected long enough to reset the boards (like for exiting the Development screen).

PH7 Motor board.

maytagneptune's profile picture
How in the world does this washer come close to stalling with a heavy load of towels in it and not zap/fry/blow up the motor controller? Does Aquasmart have a current limiter where if it tries to draw too much it stalls before frying the board?

Control panel or board glitch.

maytagneptune's profile picture
Whenever the machine experiences a power failure. The double dispenser config still says softener but when I go to select Softener on. It pulls up bleach dispensing. Resetting the config by scrolling to triple dispensers or not set and saving it then going back corrects the issue. Any idea why this is happening? Is there a coding in the valve or something or do I have to swap the valve wiring? I don't want to cause destruction so I am asking. The motor controller sometimes runs warm in a cycle. Is it about to die or is it normal. My Intuitive's MCU almost never gets warm. Is it because Phase 7 has more power or is it the SmartPump?

I don't have any specific suggestions.  Display and/or motor boards have non-volitile memory to hold machine configuration when disconnected from power.  Cycle status is also continually written/updated to memory for auto-resuming operation upon power restore after a failure.  There are fault codes for memory errors.  Have you checked if any are recorded that may not be displaying during operation?

Solenoids are monitored for faults via the electrical circuits between them and the motor board.  The valves differ physically on flow rates but the solenoids are all electrically 24VDC and 64 ohms.

I've never paid attention to motor board temperature, can't say what's normal or abnormal.
