Found an Encore (Wascomat/Laundrylux) top loader for sale on Grainger. Did these just come out? I've never in my life ever seen Wascomat/Laundrylux (out of all companies) make a TOP LOADER, and so my question is "how does it function"? Speed Queen competitor? Maytag commercial top loader competitor? Another silly modern HE washplate washer? I don't know... Does anyone have a video of this washer? Have you seen this at a laundromat recently? Do you own it yourself?

Does anyone have ANYTHING on this washer? (This was the only footage that I could find) If you have a video or any info about this, please share.

Sorry. I meant to say picture in that bottom sentence, not footage.

Looks like an Electrolux (Frigidaire) with the contoured top surface. Access panel below for ease of service. Probably a hot mess.

Don't know about their top loaders

But Wascomat/Electrolux has long attempted to go after "soft mount" laundry market with various levels of success.

They're also going after commercial/laundromat market as well. Again with various levels of success.

Personally don't believe there is much difference under the bonnet between Electrolux "Professional" and Wascomat Crossover, Encore and whatever else Electrolux is peddling.

Of course like everyone else the pitch is to get people hooked on going into laundromat "business".

Is a laundromat business a sure bet? I've been thinking of starting a business. I just wasn't sure what to start.

I thought that washer looked familiar. Reminds me of a Haier model that was on their website before they purchased GEA.

Grainger seems to be the only place selling that Encore Pro top loading washing machine, the thing isn't even on Laundrylux's website.

Since Encore/Laundrylux makes such a huge deal about front loading washing machines being better than top loaders, it would be shocking if they listed the latter on their website. So maybe that is why information is lacking.

Is anyone willing to buy these washers? Since these are probably only seen on Grainger, and Laundrylux doesn't even mention these models on their website (since they advertise that front loaders are superior), there's a chance that these might not be available for long.

My guess is if this machine does exist, it is meant to fill a very specific niche market. Lord knows Laundrylux/Encore isn't exactly promoting the thing very heavily if at all.

Can see some multi-family such as apartments, dorms or whatever going for a top loader. Maybe coin laundries not bothered by high water charges as well.

I wouldn't be willing to take a $1900 chance though!

I just called a guy who worked for Laundrylux (he sort of acted like a douchebag). He told me that the washer isn't available on the market until the 1st quarter of 2022. I tried to ask him about the machine's wash action (whether it was a wash-plate or agitator washer) and basically said that top loaders only have agitators in the middle of the drum (he sounded like those newer "wash-plate" washers didn't exist), it was still being tested (so there may be some design changes before it's release), and "just call him back in 2022".

Update: This washer is now being sold on zoro.com and homedepot.com. These websites have more pictures of the washer including rear views, side views, and pics inside the access panel where it appears to have a direct drive motor. They don't seem to have any direct screenshots of the inner wash tub, but judging from the instruction diagram shown on the underside of washer lid, it appears to have a thin straight-vane classic agitator (not the fake agi-peller ones). Now the question is: If that's what the agitator really looks like, then HOW does it agitate? And how does it compare to Speed Queen's commercial top loaders)?

Videos anyone? (also does anyone have any videos of the front-loader versions of the Encore/Wascomat Crossover washers?
