Need blower housing assembly. It is the panel that 6 screws that hold the blower assembly. It can be seen with the back panel off the dryer upper left corner.

The assembly consists of two steel plates, a bakelite fan and a bearing assembly, usually you just replace the fan if it breaks or a bearing if it can't be revived, why are you looking for the whole assembly, did it get lost ?

I just copied and pasted what my repair guy is telling me. I know it's making a really loud noise and that's what he said I need for it to be quieter. I asked if I needed the bearing and this is what he typed.

This is what he sent.....Nothing is lost . We don't need the whole assembly. We only need the bearing. The one on this blower is mounted in the only steel plate that is the back of the blower assembly.

Thats the correct bearing for your dryer, the ONLY other part that can fail is the plastic blower wheel, it could be cracked or chipped and be out of balance.

One thing I’d do is to make sure the new bearing is oiled so this problem won’t crop again in the future. AW user Akronman had the fan bearing on his 1959 Whirlpool dryer lock up and he took the fan assembly apart and oiled the heck out of the bearing and brought it back to life.

There is a clip that you can pop off and expose the wick so you can literally oil the felt that will keep it properly lubricated and the clip snaps right back in
