Hello, First time asking a question here.
I was set to service a Maytag Coin Washer LA23CS? The machine kept filling till it flooded over. I found a faulty pressure switch that would not close. I was lucky to find a replacement NOS on Ebay. I replaced the pressure switch, found a sock jammed in the drain tube, removed that and tested out the machine. It spins and drains as expected but during the initial fill,the water level will stop 1/3 of the way up the tub. The machine will just sit there. If you bump the timer advance it fills the rest of the way and stops. It won't agitate at all. The wire diagram is in poor shape but from what I can tell, the timer contacts "appear" to make contact as required. I took the timer apart to see if anything looked sideways but nothing stood out. I checked the motor and found both start and run windings there and okay. The centrifugal switch works. I am at a loss, for not having a good diagram, and unable to pin-point trouble I am between the timer and the motor. I am used to reversing switches, but the diagram appears to show reversing being done in the timer. If you advance the timer past any wash cycle it will advance on its own and complete cycle. Any hints or past experiences are a great help.
