I just posted three great new items to the Ephemera library if anyone would like a copy.
#1 is the full issue of Jan-March 1965 General Motors Engineering Journal. This has a 13 page section dedicated to the design, testing and implementation of the new Frigidaire Rollermatic transmission. It was a fascinating read and they even show their original prototype which had a 3450rpm 2-pole motor bolted directly to the unit. I've seen some very grainy photocopies of this article before but I was super lucky to recently find the full original issue with color and all. #2 are some mid 1980s brochures for General Electric Built-In Dishwashers. #3 also has some fascinating information. It's the full Technical/Service Binder to all solid-tub Hotpoint washers from the late 1960's thru the early 1970s up to about 1973. It was sometime during 1973 that Hotpoint closed down the Chicago factory and converted their washers to GE Filter-Flo designed washers. It also has complete information and images of how the Hotpoint Duo-Tub system worked, where you could wash two load with different water temperatures (and even Bleach in just one of the tubs!) in two separate tubs. These are all very cool finds. |
