Wish I lived in New York!
Question for those who have, or have had one, of these impeller models with the top sprayer. Did the pump which provides water to the shower sprayer, on the underside of the lid, run off the shaft of the main motor or was it an entirely different self-contained small motor/pump assembly? Also, how did GE filter the water going into that shower pump? Did it enter through a screen or grate? The shredding action of that stainless bow-tie impeller would create so many small food particles, it would seem they would likely clog the small jets in the shower unit. |

Barry, on the GE dishwashers with a bowtie impeller and a power shower, there was a filter ring in the pump chamber that connected to the power-shower supply pipe. I will swear on a stack of GE Product Man books that GE used the 'Filter Flo' name on some dishwashers with the power shower... I had tentatively bought an SU70 (the model with pushbuttons and an integrated rapid-advance timer) a number of years ago that had the Filter Flo tag on it. That deal fell through, alas.... The pump on these impeller machines would actually drive water into the supply pipe for the power shower as the impeller spun in the wash direction. When the machine drained, the pump ran in reverse and directed water to the drain hose (as Tom has stated above). |

CONGRATULATIONS MARY!
WOOOOO HOOOOOO!! 🥳 We're all happy that this beauty of a dishwasher was saved! Can't wait to read about your experience the first time using this beauty. Remember, we loves pictures and videos (Although, I know you can't really video much of the happenings in a dishwasher). But would love to see a video to hear what the dishwasher sounds like in action! Again, CONGRATULATIONS Mary! Here's hoping for a plug & play scenario with your new, vintage GE Mobilemaid dishwasher. WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!! 😊😘🥳 |
