My grandmas washer is on the fritz and going by the fault description, I am guessing that the extended warranty will just writing it off... But still waiting on the tech visit.

So I was looking around and found this:
www.aeg.de/laundry/laundr...

An AEG with the pods option and drawer.

So far only found it on the 8000 series machines.

I also found a new drum on a new style 7000 series machine:
www.aeg.de/laundry/laundr...

None of these appear to be on sale yet, but hey.
Looking forward to what these entail!

Interesting. So that the European version of the Electrolux Pod dispenser drawer. I wonder how popular these will be here, considering that Pods aren't the dominant detergent format over here (I think).

I'd be hard-pressed to consider pods. They are the most expensive/use form of detergent.

nice to see some subtle updates to AEG's washing machine range, I'm not sure what the point of putting a pod into the drawer really is, it's so much easier to chuck it in the drum, also, I do like the new drum design as well, certainly a hint of Samsung with it, I wonder if it will be rolled out to other models :)

I think the pod dispenser makes a whole lot more sense in regard to the ÖkoMix system.
Pre-dissolving detergents etc.

The 7000 series machine has a MyMix 69min cycle.
So ÖkoMix without any recirculation system, just 10min longer.

TOL Model Missing

I noticed that they've stopped selling the TOL machine that I have with the touch & swipe screen ( L9FEA966C ) I wonder why as it had 5 star reviews on all sellers review pages?

I see that the 8000 machine in the pictures seems to have a plastic backplate.

" I'm not sure what the point of putting a pod into the drawer really is, it's so much easier to chuck it in the drum.."

PODS of all sorts have a nasty habit of getting stuck in boot. There contents in full or part will remain often for good duration if not all of wash. Well at least until plastic film dissolves. Since many machines aren't easily opened if at all once cycle is started, if you miss what window there is then that pod will have to remain where it is.

Maybe if water level is low enough you can stop washer and using emergency door release open things up without causing a flood, but otherwise....

For PODS that are liquid only have resorted to snipping off corner, then squeezing contents into dispenser cap saved from Ariel Excell gel. Bung that lot into washer and that's that.

OTOH PODS with chambers of dry and wet ingredients cannot be handled thus so. Then have to watch things and hope thing doesn't end up getting caught in boot, and or not dissolving totally where it should.

As you might tell from this post am not a huge fan of PODS....

Wait I tell a lie.. Like them for when doing loads at local laundromat. Put POD in dispenser then poke it with a pen or something so it will break apart and go down into tub.

Those SQ washers have a short (less than two minutes) pre-wash. If you put PODs in with laundry much of product will get flushed down drain when pre-wash water empties. And since cannot open door until machine is finished....
