I acquired this 18” dishwasher for free for my grandma to use. She lives in a rent controlled apartment with a very small kitchen, but this is perfect size for her kitchen and her needs. Is a bit of a quirky machine though. No unicoupler, a separate drain hose and a fill hose. I had to zip tie the two together so the drain hose would stay put. There is no pressure release for the water. Also it’s manual clean filters. The Bosch I had did just fine with these filters but this machine not so much. It’s definitely a scraping machine, it doesn’t seem to do well with large amounts of food soil. Also the filters don’t really seem to fit together properly, I’ve already noticed the top arm has a tendency to get stuff caught in the jets. I haven’t watched it through an entire cycle, but it seems to not have a pre wash on any cycle. There is a covered detergent cup, but it flips the cup open right away on both normal and heavy cycle. Also it doesn’t haven’t a heated dry but rather a vented dry, where it turns the exposed heating element on and runs the drain pump for the duration of the dry cycle. That being said it does seem to clean well, everything I’ve put in it comes out clean. It’s not a heavy duty machine, but it will work for grandma.

aesthetically it reminds me of an old Bosch or Siemens while internally it seems an old Ariston-Merloni dishwasher. Anyway the exposed heating element is something you no longer find on new machines. Glad it works pretty well!

Yes, I'm getting walloping great whiffs of Bosch from the control panel, but Indesit/Hotpoint/Ariston from the interior.

In fact, the triangular filter looks straight out of my mum's old Hotpoint FDW20.

But in your's, I suggest that the filters might be incorrectly fitted... see the pics below, from the Hotpoint FDW20 manual. They were easy to misalign on the Hotpoint.

If I remember correctly, the plastic handle of the inner filter (PART C) had to be facing the front of the machine (there was a notch on the triangular metal flter plate (PART A) which allowed the plastic handle (PART C) to seat correctly).

The cylindrical plastic filter (PART B) then twisted (bayonet fitting style) into place, locking all three parts together.
