One of the rare glimpses of the Frigidaire Washer and a side shot of the dryer in the laundry room is seen in the later part of this episode. Bub is loading or overloading it. I always thought it weird that with the 40" Custom Imperial range, the other appliances in the house were very low end and the refrigerator so small for 5 men living there.

For those who remember her, Verna Felton guest starred in this episode.

Washer and dryer models

Weren't they the "Baby Care" models from 1960-61?

I stink so. The range is 1961.

Tom, there's also an episode during the transition of characters from Bub to Uncle Charlie whereby Steve Douglas is doing laundry--colecting the sheets from the boys bed. He overloads and over suds the washer. There's a flywheel type item rolling across the floor with the washer struggling.

Because of the dryer's push to open button for the door, I thought the pair was Norge for the longest time until I could read in the show credits appliances were GM or Frigidaire. I'd never seen entry-level Frigiaire models and actually didn't see whole lines by years until this club.

Bob,is that the episode where Steve and the washer fight with each other? That was a clip in a documentary commemorating the 30th year of television. I have yet to find the actual episode.

Chris, yes I do believe so. Probably as part of the transition between the two actors/characters and showing a still needed other adult person in the house to run the house.
