What type of dishwasher is your favorite? I'll start: KitchenAid by Hobart KD-12, like this one in stainless! I really hope that I'll own one in the future!

Hands down the Hobart AM-14. These things were amazing workhorses. Easy to use and fix and very reliable. For a home machine any Whirlpool Powerclean based machine.

This is a tough one... In terms of design, I am a big fan of GE's top-loader, impeller-wash machines.  The challenges of loading them keep the neurons firing  LOL

In terms of performance, I'd go with the 14 series Kitchen Aid - simple, but thorough : wash wash rinse rinse rinse dry.

I can't pick just one!!

No surprise here. I can still remember the day in 1969 when I opened the top of one of these in the Gimbel's Herald Square Appliance department. I couldn't believe how big (capacious) this machine was. I'm still looking for first-generation models of these should anybody come across one. These were/are incredible machines; IIRC,CU was over-the-top in their ratings for this dishwasher.

Performance wise it would have to be a Whirlpool Power Clean or Kenmore Ultra Wash. My 2001 Kenmore cleaned anything I put in there

If I were to go vintage, it would probably be a KitchenAid 14 series Superba.  It has a retro look but was the first to have next generation improvements.  It would have to be a spare machine in a secondary kitchen setting though, because . . .

As far as performance goes, nothing I've ever owned could beat my Miele Futura.

Must come in a plethora of colors and have 3 level wash.  Also needs to hint at tricking us into thinking it's a fine piece of crafted furniture with sleek handsome plastic wood on the panel.   1981  It sure was fun though.

I had the earlier "Freedom Maker" Lady K that is featured in our POD eating a cake. Cleaned everything put in there perfectly. BUT the screws on the bottom of the door broke thru the porcelain bottom and it leaked bad, Hated to put it to the curb, but no other choice.

My favourite is still the 1966 Constructa G12. It's a 67cm, 26,something inch wide machine with four small spray arms at the bottom and one big spray arm under the upper rack. Siemens had a similar model, but that one didn't have a window. With a heating element of around 3000 Watts and a powerful pump it will blast off everything!
