Cute ad!

I agree Chris, old ads are the best. There is something about all of those air-brushed, high-tech advertisements that are impersonal. Jingles and slogans were so much fun! There are very few ads that "speak to me" these days.

BTW Was this this ad for a washer or detergent product?

OMG I'm scared that I think I know this.

Maytag offering a cold water wash for such delicate hand-washables?

Less shrinkage, wrinkling and pil-ing!

And give the great big panda

to the young man with the devilish grin!

Yes, this is from a Maytag ad around 1957.

Twin Right: "Look, Helen, how smooth my sweater fits! No pulling around the buttons and the sleeves are just right! I love my Maytag washer with the exclusive cold water wash! And I even use Dash!"

Twin Left: "Oh shut up, Vera! You are such a goodie two-shoes. You probably drink the rinse water! My sweater used to fit like that, but since I spent all the money from my divorce settlement on implants, I haven't bought new clothes that fit. But, woohoo, them mens that are coming around now! These puppies are gonna land me the sugar daddy of my dreams, and then I'm gonna get a maid who will wash my clothes for me and I won't give two diddlies if it is a Maytag or a rock by the river! Pass me my cocktail, Vera. Where are my cigarettes?"

Just Barely Stuck on You 2

Cher will hire them as her assitants and then co star them as bi-polar laundry opposites in her new unwated, but under contract, sitcom "Sunny and the Beaves"
