My trusty Ironrite has started making a noise... I'd describe it as a rapid "clicking" noise coming from the motor. A little pressure to the motor housing one way or another "shifts" the noise (muffles it, lessens it), but it's clearly still happening in there.
I'm no expert, but I'm thinking a bearing is going out or something...?
Open to ideas... and of course the followup question: If it is a motor issue, what type of shop would do that repair (or can I remove the motor myself and ship it to an expert?)?
THANK YOU in advance for any help or ideas. Let me know if I can provide any other useful info.
While i've never worked on an ironrite, I have worked on a ton of electromechanical machines like this. The chances of you having enough hours on that to actually wear out the bearings is slim. Most likely it just needs oil and will continue on for decades to come. If you have the know how to remove the motor to ship it, there is no reason you can't fix it yourself.
Take a picture of the motor all angles that you can, and I will do my best to walk you through.
