Lauren- yes, that is the rinse aid dispenser. Usually those hold around a cup worth of material. You might want to google the owners manual for the model you have and get ALL the care details for the dishwasher.
Jamie- Unless the dw you're acquiring has two blank rubber plugs where a dispenser like the one pictured would go AND the wire terminal on the timer for connecting a dispenser; you really can't put one in even if you found it. I don't know if they still make those little baskets of agent that get clipped onto one of the racks and they dispense agent while the machine is running. It's worth checking. Re: how much to fill the reservoir, it's usually to the top unless there is some sort of marker provided/referenced. Do not fill further than the small opening that you are dumping the rinse agent into. I assume you will have to use a coin or a screwdriver to unscrew the reservoir plug, only because I can't tell from the picture if the slotted section is big enough to get your fingers around it. |
